Summary

THE GENERATOR EXHAUST PIPE, LOCATED AT THE REAR ROADSIDE OF THE VEHICLE, CAN EMIT HOT EXHAUST GASES FROM A DAMAGED, WORN, DEFECTIVE, OR IMPROPERLY INSTALLED EXHAUST PIPE, MELTING THE ADJACENT POLYETHYLENE STORAGE TRUNK.

Risk

THE DAMAGED STORAGE TRUNK ALLOWS GENERATOR AND/OR VEHICLEEXHAUST GASES TO ENTER THE VEHICLE, RESULTING IN A HAZARD TO VEHICLE OCCUPANTS.

Remedy

REPLACE ANY DEFECTIVE GENERATOR EXHAUST PIPES, REPAIR HOLES IN THE POLYETHYLENE STORAGE TRUNK, AND INSTALL A HEAT SHIELD BETWEEN THE GENERATOR EXHAUST PIPE AND THE STORAGE TRUNK.
