About RecallSight

Public safety data is useful. Connected public safety data is better.

RecallSight is an independent project that organizes authoritative vehicle and consumer-product safety records around the questions people actually ask.

Mission

Make safety evidence understandable

Government programs publish valuable records across separate systems. RecallSight brings those records into a coherent, source-labeled report.

Difference

Go beyond “is there a recall?”

RecallSight connects campaigns to complaint timing, crash ratings, manufacturer communications, investigations and completion context.

Boundary

Never replace the authoritative source

NHTSA and manufacturers remain authoritative for VIN-specific unrepaired recall status and required action.

What RecallSight connects

A vehicle evidence graph

A RecallSight report can combine official NHTSA recalls and campaign details, 5-Star Safety Ratings, consumer complaints, vPIC VIN information, manufacturer communications, ODI investigations and U.S. DOT recall completion context. EPA/DOE and Transport Canada can add supplemental context when a reliable match is available.

The point is not to manufacture a proprietary safety score. The point is to make the chronology and relationships visible while preserving the source of every fact.

Why it matters

NHTSA provides the records. RecallSight assembles the vehicle’s story.

A government database should remain the authority. RecallSight’s opportunity is helping a consumer see what exists around a vehicle without navigating a dozen separate programs.
