THE STEERING WHEEL RETAINING RING MAY HAVE BEEN OMITTED DURING VEHICLE ASSEMBLY. THIS COULD ALLOW THE ATTACHMENT NUT TO UNSCREW, RESULTING IN A SEPARATION OF THE STEERING WHEEL FROM THE STEERING COLUMN SHAFT.
What fixes it
Official remedy
UPON INSPECTION, A STEERING WHEEL ATTACHMENT NUT RETAINING RING WILL BE INSTALLED. THE OWNER ALSO HAS THE OPTION OF INSTALLING THE RING HIMSELF.
