BREAKAGE OF THE MOUNTING BRACKET IN A SEVERE CRASH COULD ALLOW THE SEAT BELT TO NOT PROPERLY RESTRAIN THE PASSENGER AND POTENTIALLY RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH.
What fixes it
Official remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT AND BRACKET ASSEMBLY FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 17, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT MITSUBISHI AT 1-800-222-0037.
