What can happen

Safety consequence

IF THE SHAFT BREAKS, BRAKING DISTANCE WOULD BE EXTENDED DUE TO THE LACK OF BRAKE BOOSTER FUNCTION, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

What fixes it

Official remedy

DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE VACUUM PUMP SHAFT ASSEMBLY. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN FEBRUARY 15, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT MITSUBISHI FUSO TRUCK AT 1-856-467-4500.
